Lincoln Highway - Markers

In 1925 the US Bureau of Public Roads eliminated named trails and highways and the Lincoln Highway was simply known as Route 30.  In one of the last actions of the Lincoln Highway Association before it's closing 1927 was to  On September 1, 1928 at 9:00 AM, the markers were placed by Boy Scout troops, all across the country.  2,436 actually placed.
